Combat Roach Killing Bait Strips Review

Unfortunately, I have to admit that we get cockroaches. The good news is that it isn't because our house is disgusting, but rather the fact that we live in what seems to be the bug capital of the US, North Carolina. Right about now is when everyone around here is having huge roach problems as the weather gets warmer. We usually get them in our garage and attic and have found them in our kitchen, living room and even our bedroom! Roaches gross me out like you wouldn't believe so I am happy that we were able to try out these bait strips.

The Combat Killing Bait Strips don't just kill the bugs you see, but the bait (a combination of food, water and the insecticide Fipronil) is brought back to the nest and distributed among the other roaches killing those that you have not yet seen too! They have a discreet design that sticks to hidden spots, kills quickly and leaves no mess. You can get these in a 10 count package and they are good for terminating both large and small roaches (we usually get the nasty big ones and most of the roach kits do not work for those! One more reason I am glad we were able to try these!)

My husband stuck the strips in a few discreet areas where he was sure our toddler and cat would not find them. The downfall is that our cat still somehow managed to find them and ate some of the bait! Now, I know that isn't supposed to happen and it isn't good for pets, but I am happy to report that our cat showed no signs like he had eaten any.

My husband's only complaint, as he was the one who used these, was that the sticky strip on the back is SUPER small so it did not stick well to anything so he really only had the choice of throwing them on the ground in hidden areas. Where he did stick them, they fell right off not too long after. It would be nice to see a little bit more of the sticky background then we would really love these.

Available at major retailers including Walmart, Home Depot, Target, Family Dollar, Dollar General and Publix.

PS, yes, our cat got into the package even before we had opened it. I guess this bait even attracts cats!

  1. Just purchased these myself. Same issue with the adhesive 'strip' on back. It is worthless, so I placed them on the floors or the cabinets and closets.

Curiously, the bait in mine was no way near as copious as what your phot shows.

    Hope they work.

  2. They don't work at all and the container says not to use any other spray when using them so my problem became ten fold... Yuck!
