Jabra Freeway Bluetooth Wireless In-Car Speakerphone Review and Contest

I received the Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Wireless In-Car Speakerphone to review this week. I have to be honest, we are not used to it yet. Perhaps it is my husband's voice or something with our contacts and phone sync, but unless all we are saying is "mom" it calls the wrong person. Like I said, we are still getting used to it and hopefully can figure out the tricks before our long drive next week. I know several who love this product so we must be doing something wrong!

I do love that this devices makes things basically hands-free, but you do still have to press the "voice" button before you do anything so if you are trying to skip songs on your phone or cancel a call. We also for the life of us cannot get the device to "end call" just by saying it, we have to press the button. My husband also did not like that, unlike with most Bluetooth devices, you have to say "phone commands" before you can even make a call because it has to initiate the settings on the phone first rather than syncing them at once. I figured out also that you can connect two devices but you have to activate whichever one you want working (this is fine though because I am usually in the passenger seat so I can answer mine no problem because I am not driving.) I do love how easy it is to install and how clear the voice and call quality is though. I also love that you can adjust the volume so it is not as loud when our son is asleep in the back. We have only been using it for a couple days so we still have some learning to do so I am looking forward to when we can figure out the voice commands and re-name some of our contacts that we use frequently so the voice command can understand better!

Be sure to see the bottom of my post and enter the Pinterest contest that ends TODAY, May 9, 2013!

The Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Wireless In-Car Speakerphone is a device that works with any Bluetooth-enabled phone. This means that you can go hands-free in the car and still have great sound quality! There are three speakers on the stereo system which creates Virtual Surround sound with no unwanted background noise which makes your call sound quality crisper and clearer.

With most hands-free devices that I have seen, you still need to use your hands to navigate controls until the call starts to go through, however, Jabra FREEWAY allows you to go completely hands-free as it enables you to use your voice for all of the controls--making, answering, ending, redialing and rejecting phone calls! At the start of your Jabra FREEWAY experience, the device will discuss with you setup and pairing then it will begin announcing who is calling, ask if you would like to accept or reject their call, update you with battery level and what your connection status is. Here is what I really think is awesome, though. If you are a businessman or carry two phones for any reason (or perhaps your wife, like me, does not feel like answering her phone in the passenger seat as she has to take care of the crazy kiddos in the back,) you can pair TWO separate phones at the same time! The Jabra FREEWAY device will even turn itself on and off automatically when you get in and out of the car so you do not have to worry about messing with any buttons.

Of course, there are button controls that you can use if needed to turn the device off or on manually or adjust the volume settings or put the device on mute. Jabra FREEWAY even has a USB port to charge your phone as Bluetooth can take up much of your batter power if you do not keep it charged. You can also charge the device when needed using the cigarette lighter or in your home or hotel room using your PC. With Jabra FREEWAY you will get up to 14 hours of talk time and 40 days of standby time. The device is 99x120x19 mm and is easily mounted on your sun visor to keep the device from obstructing your view which is just one more way to stay safe on the road!

A few other neat features that the Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Wireless In-Car Speakerphone has are that you can adjust the language settings if needed using language download packs at www.Jabra.com as well as install firmware updates. You are also able to connect your device to your car's radio so you can listen to both your music and calls through your car's stereo. My favorite is that you can even stream music, listen to podcasts and hear turn-by-turn directions wifi-lessly from your phone using A20P! This feature is one I am sure my husband will enjoy for greater sound quality.

Through May 9th, Jabra is hosting a contest on Pinterest! First prize is $500 and a Jabra FREEWAY and second is a Jabra SOLEMATE. Find out the contest details here on their Facebook app.
