Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix Review

I had the opportunity to try out Premama's Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix with DHA. Now, I am not currently pregnant, but have still been taking prenatals since having my son as they help to get me the nutrition that I need and are helping with my hair and skin and getting back to my pre-pregnancy health. Usually I take the horse pills that smell like hamster food and taste like grains, but this drink mix was totally different! Honestly, at first I was very skeptical. I have tried various drink mixes to add protein and vitamins and fiber...all claim to be flavorless but they give off this disgusting gritty texture and make your drink taste almost stale. Well, Premama surprised me. Not only was it flavorless in my grapefruit juice, but in spite of seeming to see floating granules, the texture was not gritty! I went into this review thinking I would be tossing a few drinks and maybe my cookies, but was delighted that this is an easy prenatal that I can take anytime I am thirsty!

Pour in and mix!
Premama comes in single serve "on-the-go" packets of two doses each. You can choose to do both at once if you plan to chug a lot, or do what I did and split the dose evenly into two with two beverages at different times of the day. Premama goes very well in juices--I believe it goes best with my grapefruit juice and orange juice. I did try it in chocolate milk, but I could taste the vitamins more this way so I will stick to juice. I have not yet tried water with it as after trying with chocolate milk and tasting some of the "healthiness" I do not believe water would be able to mask the flavor as other beverages would but you might want to give it a shot! Premama, however, states that you can put it into any beverage you have (so I assume soda would be ok, though I don't recommend it, and alcohol is of course an implied no.) Drink within five minutes for the best quality taste.
Premama does ask that if you, like me, are taking any prescription medications that you ask your doctor before trying this out. Better safe than sorry! Be sure to use as directed for best results and you will have more energy, a healthier baby, and you should be able to handle this prenatal vitamin without throwing up as it is flavorless.

You can't even tell you're drinking vitamins!
How is Premama good for you? Premama contains high amounts of Biotin (good for embryo growth as well as healthy hair and skin,) B Vitamins (for energy,) DHA Omega-3 Fatty Acid (for baby's cognitive development and your postpartum depression prevention,) Coenzyme Q10 (for preeclampsia prevention,) Choline and Folic Acid (to prevent neural tube defects and reduce up to 70% of birth deffects,) and Ginger Root (to reduce nausea) along with many other essential nutrients. Premama also only has 6 calories!

Not pregnant? That's ok! Prenatal vitamins are great for all women.  You may not need to prevent nausea, but there are so many other great things prenatals do for our bodies. Consider taking prenatals if you find yourself always tired or not eating as well as you would like (as prenatal vitamins have far more nutrients than your average women's multivitamin,) are currently pregnant, trying to become pregnant, just had a baby, are breastfeeding, or just need to boost your overall health!
